The Speedtech ExtReme Chassis with Independent Rear Suspension brings modern performance to the iconic 1955–1957 Chevrolet Tri-Five platform—delivering a lowered stance, wide tire fitment, increased chassis rigidity, and true handling capability for both street and track use. Designed specifically for the 1955 Bel Air, 1956 210, and 1957 Nomad, this system transforms these classic cars into fully capable performance machines without sacrificing their timeless appeal.

Engineered with proprietary suspension geometry and tuned with QA1 or JRi coilovers, the chassis is paired with a precision dual-power rack from Sweet Mfg. to provide sharp response and connected, predictable feedback. The result is a refined driving experience that maintains comfort while dramatically improving control and confidence behind the wheel.

Up front, optimized geometry, forged aluminum spindles, and clearance for up to 315mm tires ensure maximum grip and stability. Out back, the Independent Rear Suspension delivers exceptional compliance, strength, and adjustability—giving you the tuning range and performance capability to handle everything from aggressive cornering to long-distance cruising with ease.

AGGRESSIVE STANCE, WIDE TIRE FITMENT

Designed with wide wheel and tire combos in mind, this subframe accommodates up to a 315/30/18 tire with full steering clearance. High-clearance control arms and optimized geometry let you slam the car for that strong pro-touring look without compromising performance or drivability.

Extreme Front Geometry - 55-57 Bel Air

PRECISION STEERING FEEL, DUAL RACK PERFORMANCE

At the heart of this system is a dual power rack and pinion from Sweet Mfg., giving you a quicker ratio and improved feedback for confident cornering. Combined with our billet steering arm and ExtReme spindle geometry, you’ll feel in full control at every turn.

RACE-BRED STRENGTH, STREET-READY RELIABILITY

Box-welded construction with tabbed-through gusseting maximizes torsional rigidity, while our 7075 forged aluminum spindles bring lightweight strength to the front end. It’s engineered to take abuse—on and off the track.

Extreme IRS - 55-57 Tri 5

INDEPENDENT REAR SUSPENSION

Speedtech Performance’s ExtReme IRS system is not just an upgrade; it's a complete transformation of your classic car's handling capabilities. By incorporating advanced suspension technology, it delivers a modern driving experience while preserving the timeless appeal of your vintage vehicle.
