RedZed Reloaded: ExtReme Subframe Upgrade
Upgrading to the Latest ExtReme Front Subframe
Although RedZed’s old Speedtech Pro Touring subframe was more than adequate for Roger’s street driver, he wanted the latest and greatest performance on tap for his ride. Upgrading to the new ExtReme subframe was a no-brainer.
Key highlights of the new subframe:
More aggressive handling geometry
Significantly increased tire clearance
Race-tuned Sweet Manufacturing rack & pinion relocated to the front of the crossmember
Autocross-tuned Viking coilovers for street comfort and track grip
Baer 6-piston calipers with 14″ rotors for serious stopping power

RedZed has been an icon among Speedtech fans for many years and was originally a test car for our early Pro Touring Subframe and Torque Arm suspension systems. That transformation elevated it from a cookie-cutter Camaro into a poster child for the modern Pro Touring street/show car.
Original highlights included:
Bright red paint
19″ front billet wheels + deep 20″ rears
Supercharged big block
Aggressive stance and iconic profile
With Speedtech releasing the new ExtReme product line, RedZed was ready for a new chapter and a fresh change in attitude and pace.

RedZed was already running one of the first Speedtech Torque Arms ever produced. After years of revisions and fine-tuning, it too received the latest update.
The rear was upgraded with:
Dutchman-prepped 9″ Ford
TrueTrac center section
3.89 gears
Superset bearing assemblies
Matching Baer 6-piston rear brakes
Viking Crusader shocks w/ 600 lb springs
Speedtech Torque Arm sway bar
Despite the aggressive geometry, the car rides extremely well on the street. Roger has taken RedZed on multiple extended road trips and cruises around town without issue—or sore kidneys.
Powertrain Refresh: From Big Block to LS3
Previously powered by a supercharged 427″ big block and a 700R4, Roger wanted something more streetable for long-distance travel and more interactive on canyon roads.
The new setup includes:
525 hp GM crate LS3
Viper T-56 6-speed
Chassis stiffening down bars
Speedtech widened fiberglass wheel tubs
This combo maintains performance while greatly improving drivability, responsiveness, and fun factor.

Ready for the Next Chapter
With updated power, updated suspension, and modern geometry, RedZed continues to evolve while staying true to its Pro Touring roots.
