At the Triple Crown of Rodding in Nashville, we caught up with our friends at Charlie’s Custom Creations to see a project that has officially graduated from mock-up to real street duty.

Last year, this truck sat unfinished, wearing epoxy and bare metal while the team worked through the details. Fast forward to today and it’s painted, assembled, refined—and already racking up miles with plenty of tire smoke behind it.

That’s the difference between building a showpiece and building a driver. See how our C10 chassis Can transform your Restomod.

Rolling on an ExtReme Foundation - C10 chassis

Beneath the sheet metal lives a Speedtech ExtReme truck chassis equipped with a torque arm rear suspension and a 9-inch rearend. The goal was simple: modern handling, predictable performance, and strength to support big horsepower without sacrificing comfort.

Jeff, the owner, wanted something clean and straightforward that he could enjoy whenever the weather cooperated. Of course, with this kind of power on tap, traction becomes optional.

1,500 Horsepower with Symmetry

Under the hood of this C10 sits a monster: a 427 from Shaft Rock Racing force-fed by mirror-image Precision 6466 turbos, producing around 1,500 horsepower on E85 sitting on Speedtech's ExtReme C10 Chassis.

But output is only half the story.

Jeff wanted the engine bay perfectly balanced from side to side, so Charlie fabricated custom inner fender structures, cycled the suspension through travel, and ensured clearance at every possible steering angle. Once those foundations were set, intake routing, air boxes, and exhaust paths followed naturally.

The result is clean, mirrored, and intentional—exactly what you hope to see when craftsmanship meets engineering.

A true carbon fiber brake booster from Master Power Brakes and carefully Cerakoted components round out a bay that looks as good as it performs.

Choosing Smart Paint

The most common question all weekend: What color is it?

It’s a Toyota blue.

Instead of creating a one-off mix that becomes a nightmare to repair, the team chose a factory-based color. When the truck inevitably collects rock chips from actual driving, matching and repairing the finish will be far simpler.

Practical? Yes.
Still completely custom in appearance? Also yes.

Details That Separate Good from Great

This build is packed with subtle touches that elevate the entire truck:

  • 40 hours in each door to achieve an incredibly solid, precise close.

  • Bumpers tucked, narrowed, and reshaped to match the body lines.

  • A raised bed floor (2¾ inches) fitted with real wood from Bed Wood and Parts.

  • Structural reinforcement added behind the bed for rigidity.

  • A magnetic tail-light fuel filler that keeps the exterior smooth.

Most people won’t immediately spot every modification, but they’ll feel the refinement.

Interior Built for Real Life

The inside tells the same story as the outside: premium but usable.

Charlie teamed up with in-house upholstery talent to create a cabin trimmed in heavily distressed leather that’s thick, durable, and perfect for an owner who climbs in wearing work boots. This isn’t fragile material—it’s closer to saddle leather than luxury car hide.

CNC-machined aluminum panels, magnet-retained inserts, and hidden wiring behind a full rear aluminum panel make the truck easy to service while keeping the presentation top tier. Even the painted roof is convincing enough that many people mistake it for a headliner.

Show Quality. Street Mentality.

Charlie’s philosophy is simple. These vehicles should look incredible, but they should also be driven, enjoyed, and experienced.

Trailer queens are easy.

Building something that can win attention under lights and then comfortably hit the highway takes real planning. A C10 Chassis that performs. Period.
