1972 Nova – ResurreXion
When Blake Foster, owner of Speedtech Performance, set out to build his personal 1972 Nova, the goal was clear: create a street-legal machine capable of competing with the best on track. Originally started as a Super Chevy magazine build, the Nova already wore a Speedtech front subframe and torque arm suspension when Blake took ownership. After uncovering subpar workmanship, the Speedtech team stripped it down to bare metal, sandblasted the shell, and rebuilt it from the ground up. Inspired by traditional road-race cars, Blake crafted a one-off look by grafting a ’69 Camaro tail panel, valance, and bumper, reshaping the front valence, and finishing the body in a matte-clear treatment over base color for an aggressive, purpose-built style.
Track-Ready Power Meets Speedtech Engineering
Under the hood, a 6.0L GM LS-based engine built by Richmond Engines produces 510 horsepower and 543 lb-ft of torque, paired to a Tremec Magnum T56 six-speed and a Ford 9-inch rear end with 3.89 gears and a Truetrac differential. A custom Speedtech subframe, torque arm suspension, and Articulink trailing arms are matched with Ridetech monotube coilovers, Hyperco springs, and beefy sway bars to deliver modern pro-touring handling. Forgeline three-piece wheels wrapped in Nitto NT05 tires and Baer 14-inch six-piston brakes provide the grip and stopping power needed to compete. With its unique styling, meticulously engineered chassis, and track-proven performance, “ResurreXion” lives up to its name — a Nova reborn with cutting-edge Speedtech innovation.
