So what happens when you take an old and mostly forgotten 60’s era 4 door land yacht and Frankenstein it with a full pro-touring custom suspension and mass quantities of supercharged Viper V10 power? You make some kind of a serious statement, that’s what.

The Tyrant and Tyler.

Tyler at HPI Customs is the daring guy that took on this huge task, and he literally shocked viewers at the 2013 SEMA show with this phenomenal ’66 Chrysler Imperial. Known as “The Tyrant”, the king size Chrysler made its way to HPI Customs north of the border where it began a complete makeover and upgrade. Among all the other details that didn’t make it into pics, the incredibly detailed one off custom frame is built around our Speedtech Hot Rod Subframe. Basically the heart of a Speedtech ’67-69 Camaro Subframe, Tyler did a fantastic job incorporating it into his custom designed frame rails and laser cut supports and cross members. This car isn’t meant to be a fair grounds cruiser, it boasts Speedtech high clearance front suspension components, power rack and pinion steering, our tall AFX spindle kit, a Watts link out back, and a custom modified version of our torque arm supporting our super duty Chicane full floating 9″ Ford rear axle. Huge Wilwoods roll behind the even more huge Schott wheels. Motorvation comes from one evil snake, a Paxton Supercharged Viper V10, and is backed by a paddle shifted 6-Speed automatic. The interior was upgraded and modernized throughout and is the epitome of luxurious performance. Overall this car has more subtle and in your face mods than a couple hours of studying could reveal. Our hats are off to Tyler for taking something mundane and making it an incredible rolling piece of artwork. We’re proud to have been a large part of this build!
