The ExtReme Geometry

Chassis Installation

315 TIRES WITH FULL STEERING AND CORRECTED ACKERMANN

30° ± Steering Angle: Wider front tires give the car more grip on the road, which translates to better stability and control during everyday cornering and quick maneuvers. A greater steering angle lets the wheels turn sharper, making parking, U-turns, and navigating tight streets easier.

Widest Tire Fitment: As we mentioned above, when you are pushing your car to the limits, you need more contact area with the ground. We have engineered our front suspension to allow for the biggest tire and steering angle combination on the market.

Fitment Examples: 1967-1969 Camaro - 315/30R18, 1967-1970 Mustang - 315/30R18, 1968-1970 Charger - 335/30R18,

Proper Ackermann Steering Geometry: Ackermann steering geometry is designed so that your front wheels naturally follow the right path when turning. On everyday streets, this means your car steers more smoothly, takes corners with less effort, and your tires last longer.

The Strength and Rigidity

Internal Gusseting: We use internal gusseting within our chassis design. This approach allows for slimmer frame rails while still boosting overall strength and rigidity. On the street, that means the frame is lighter and more efficient, yet sturdy enough to resist flex from bumps, potholes, and daily driving stresses.

INTERNAL GUSSETING

Forged Aluminum Spindle: The Speedtech forged aluminum spindle is engineered for strength and precision you can rely on every day. Forging produces a denser, tougher structure than casting, which means the spindle can withstand the stresses of potholes, curbs, and rough roads without flexing or wearing out prematurely. Paired with the proven C7 Corvette dual-bearing hub, it offers long-lasting durability, smoother operation, and added load capacity.

Driver-Focused Control System

Sweet Mfg. Dual Power Rack and Pinion: In everyday driving, steering comfort and confidence are key. A dual power rack and pinion system provides smoother, more consistent steering response by evenly distributing assist across both sides of the rack. This helps eliminate flex and uneven loads, so the driver gets steadier feedback and improved stability.

3-Piece Tunable Sway Bar: A 3-piece tunable sway bar gives you the flexibility to adjust your suspension for everyday conditions. Its modular design makes it easy to change stiffness, letting you find the right balance between ride comfort and confident handling. The result is smoother cornering, less body roll, and a more stable, predictable drive.

TORQUE ARM REAR SUSPENSION

Torque Arm Advantage: The Speedtech Performance torque arm is designed to put power to the pavement smoothly and efficiently. By controlling axle movement and refining rear suspension geometry, it helps reduce wheel hop and improve traction during everyday driving.

Articulating Trailing Arms: On a torque arm rear suspension, articulating trailing arms let the rear end move more naturally without binding. This translates into a smoother ride over bumps and rough pavement, while keeping the suspension stable and the tires firmly in contact with the road.

Torque Arm vs. 4-Link: A torque arm rear suspension provides better traction and stability than a traditional 4-link design. Because it isn’t locked into binding geometry, the suspension moves more freely over bumps and uneven pavement, giving smoother ride quality and more consistent handling. This translates into better grip in everyday situations, more predictable cornering, and improved comfort without the harshness or quirks of a 4-link under stress.

9-Inch Gearing: The 9-inch gear setup is a proven choice for everyday driving, offering exceptional strength and long-term durability. Its robust design stands up to the demands of daily use, while the wide range of gear ratio options allows drivers to enjoy the right mix of smooth acceleration and efficient cruising. Strong, versatile, and dependable—the 9-inch is a trusted solution for reliable performance on the street.

INDEPENDENT REAR SUSPENSION

High Motion Ratio Performance: The Speedtech Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) with its high-mount design and optimized motion ratio provides the ideal balance of strength, comfort, and control for everyday driving. The efficient motion ratio allows the shocks and springs to work smoothly, giving a more refined ride and better response over bumps, potholes, and uneven pavement.

Engineered for Maximum Grip: The Speedtech Independent Rear Suspension is designed with longer rear control arms to allow more suspension travel while maintaining proper geometry. This keeps the tires in better contact with the road over bumps and through everyday turns, giving you a larger and more consistent contact patch. The result is improved grip in all conditions, smoother weight transfer, and handling that feels stable and predictable.

Multiple Shock Mounting Options: The Speedtech IRS Chassis gives drivers flexibility with three shock mounting options—high-mount cantilever, low-mount cantilever, and traditional mounts. Each setup allows you to fine-tune suspension geometry and motion ratio to match your driving preferences. Additionally, you can design the look of the trunk of your ride around your suspension set up.

TRADITIONAL MOUNT IRS

IRS with Mod Shock

Ultimate Suspension Tuning: The Speedtech IRS is engineered for drivers who want comfort and confidence in everyday conditions. With full adjustability for caster, camber, ride height, and toe, plus a 3-piece tunable sway bar, it gives you the ability to tailor your suspension to your driving style. This means you can dial in the right balance between ride comfort and handling response.

Strength and Precision Built In: The Speedtech IRS comes equipped with a forged aluminum spindle for outstanding strength and long-term durability in everyday driving. Forging creates a tougher, more reliable part that resists flex, helping your suspension stay precise and consistent over bumps, potholes, and rough pavement. Each spindle also includes a billet aluminum parking brake mechanism—lightweight, strong, and built for daily dependability.
