Learn How To Enhance Your Build With Speedtech Performance

Built for Pros Who Build Every Day

From streamlined catalog selection to flexible fitment and proven performance, this system is designed to make installs more efficient, builds cleaner, and customers happier. With expert support and upgrade-ready options, it's the dependable foundation your shop can count on—build after build.

A true performance build starts with the right foundation.

While classic muscle cars deliver timeless style, their original chassis were never designed for the power, grip, and performance expectations of modern drivers.

At Speedtech Performance, we engineer chassis systems that transform vintage cars and trucks into true modern performance machines. Through advanced suspension geometry, race-inspired engineering, and a complete systems approach, our chassis deliver the strength, precision, and confidence serious builders demand.

As you explore this page, you’ll learn why the chassis matters and what makes Speedtech different from the competition.

BUILDERS TESTIMONIAL

Engineered for Maximum Grip, Precision, and Everyday Confidence

30° ± Steering Angle: Wide front tires provide more grip, which means better control and stability when cornering hard or pushing a car at its limits. A larger steering angle allows the wheels to turn sharper, giving the driver more maneuverability and helping the car hold tighter lines, especially in racing or drifting situations. Together, they give the front end more authority, so the driver can steer with confidence.

315 TIRES WITH FULL STEERING AND CORRECTED ACKERMANN

Widest Tire Fitment: As we mentioned above, when you are pushing your car to the limits, you need more contact area with the ground. We have engineered our front suspension to allow for the biggest tire and steering angle combination on the market.

Fitment Examples: 1967-1969 Camaro - 315/30R18, 1967-1970 Mustang - 315/30R18, 1968-1970 Charger - 335/30R18,

Internal Gusseting: We use internal gusseting within our chassis design. This engineering approach allows us to use thinner frame rails while actually increasing torsional strength and rigidity. The result is a lighter, more efficient frame that resists flex under extreme loads, delivering sharper handling and long-lasting durability.

INTERNAL GUSSETING

Forged Aluminum Spindle: The Speedtech forged aluminum spindle is built for uncompromising strength and precision. Forging creates a denser, tougher structure than casting, ensuring the spindle can handle the extreme loads of high-performance driving without flex or fatigue. Paired with the proven C7 Corvette dual-bearing hub, it delivers greater durability, smoother operation, and improved load capacity.

Proper Ackermann Steering Geometry: Ackermann steering geometry refers to the way the inside and outside wheels turn at slightly different angles when cornering. This is important because each wheel follows its own path through a turn. Proper Ackermann ensures that both front tires track naturally without scrubbing or fighting each other. The result is smoother steering, less tire wear, and maximum grip through corners.

Sweet Mfg. Dual Power Rack and Pinion: When driving aggressively on the track, steering precision and control are everything. A dual power rack and pinion system delivers smoother, more consistent steering response by balancing assist across both sides of the rack. This eliminates flex and uneven loads, giving the driver sharper feedback, improved stability, and confidence in high-speed cornering. The result is steering that feels direct and predictable—even under the most demanding track conditions.

3-Piece Tunable Sway Bar: A 3-piece tunable sway bar gives you the ability to fine-tune your suspension for any driving style or track condition. Its modular design allows quick adjustments to stiffness, so you can dial in the perfect balance between comfort and performance. The result is sharper handling, reduced body roll, and maximum grip when you need it most.

Torque Arm Advantage: The Speedtech Performance torque arm is engineered to put power to the ground with maximum efficiency. By controlling axle rotation and improving rear suspension geometry, it delivers superior traction, reduced wheel hop, and more consistent handling. The result is a suspension system that keeps the car planted and predictable—perfect for serious performance driving.

Articulating Trailing Arms: On a torque arm rear suspension, articulating trailing arms allow the rear end to move more naturally without binding. This improves ride quality, keeps the suspension planted, and maintains traction under hard acceleration and cornering. The result is smoother articulation, better handling, and greater consistency when driving at the limit.

Torque Arm vs. 4-Link: A torque arm rear suspension delivers superior traction and stability compared to a traditional 4-link. Because it isn’t locked into binding geometry, the suspension can move freely through its travel, giving smoother articulation and more consistent handling. This means better grip, sharper cornering, and improved suspension reaction without the harshness or unpredictability of a 4-link under load.

9-Inch Gearing: The 9-inch gear setup is a proven choice for performance driving, offering unmatched strength and durability under high loads. With its robust design and wide range of gear ratio options, it delivers the perfect balance of acceleration and top-end speed. Strong, versatile, and reliable—the 9-inch is the go-to solution for putting serious power to the pavement.

High Motion Ratio Performance: The Speedtech IRS with its high-mount design and high motion ratio delivers the ultimate balance of strength, control, and responsiveness. The high motion ratio allows the shocks and springs to work more efficiently, giving precise tuning and improved grip through every corner. Combined with the stability of an independent rear suspension, the result is smoother travel, sharper handling, and unmatched confidence when pushing the limits on track or street.

HIGH-MOUNT CANTILEVER IRS

Strength Where It Counts: Every Speedtech IRS comes standard with axles rated to handle 1,200 horsepower, giving you the confidence to push hard on the track without compromise. For extreme builds, upgrades are available to handle over 1,800 horsepower. This unmatched strength ensures reliable power delivery, improved durability, and the peace of mind that your suspension is built to withstand the most demanding performance driving.

DUTCHMAN AXLE

Engineered for Maximum Grip: The Speedtech IRS is designed with longer rear control arms to deliver more suspension travel without sacrificing geometry. By keeping the suspension within the optimal camber gain curve, the tires maintain a larger, more consistent contact patch through corners. The result is improved grip, smoother weight transfer, and more predictable handling—exactly what’s needed for serious performance and track driving.

OPTIMIZED SUSPENSION TRAVEL

Multiple Shock Mounting Options: The Speedtech IRS gives racers the edge with three shock mounting options—high-mount cantilever, low-mount cantilever, and traditional mounts. Each setup allows you to fine-tune suspension geometry and motion ratio for maximum grip, balance, and responsiveness. This flexibility means you can tailor your car’s handling to different track conditions, ensuring smoother suspension travel, sharper cornering, and faster lap times.

TRADITIONAL MOUNT IRS

Ultimate Suspension Tuning: The Speedtech IRS is engineered for racers who demand precision. With full adjustability for caster, camber, ride height, and toe, plus a 3-piece tunable sway bar, it gives you complete control over suspension geometry and roll stiffness. This means you can fine-tune your setup for different track conditions, maximizing grip, stability, and responsiveness. The result is sharper cornering, smoother balance, and the ultimate advantage in performance and track driving.

TRADITIONAL MOUNT IRS WITH QA1 MOD SHOCK

Strength and Precision Built In: The Speedtech IRS comes equipped with a forged aluminum spindle for maximum strength and durability under extreme track conditions. Forging creates a tougher, more reliable part that resists flex, keeping your suspension precise and predictable at high speeds. Each spindle also features a billet aluminum parking brake mechanism—lightweight, strong, and built to perform. Together, they deliver the perfect balance of strength, precision, and reliability for serious performance and track driving.
