If you’re installing a T-56 in your ’68-74 Nova, you need our new Speedtech Transmission Tunnel Cover! Traditionally, installing a T-56 in an old muscle car with it’s larger case and different shifter location meant major reconstruction of the transmission tunnel. This can be very time consuming, costly and often requires custom carpet and center consoles. Now with this simple yet effective design you can avoid the hassle and expense of a new tunnel, and have it installed and completed in a matter of only about an hour! It also works great for use with an aftermarket automatic shifter where a flat mounting surface is required.
The you-fit shifter hole design allows you to custom fit the cover specifically to your application. Once the main shifter hole is cut out, the Tunnel Cover can then be welded, riveted, or screwed into place. Its as simple as that!
The final assembly allows plenty of clearance around the transmission housing yet is low profile enough to build a neat and trim center console to fit over the top of it.
